At SoFla Prime Consulting, our journey began with a vision to revolutionize financial management for businesses in South Florida. Established in 2022, our founders, Jeff and Douglas, recognized the need for reliable and expert financial services that could empower companies to thrive in the dynamic and competitive market landscape.
Driven by a passion for finance and a commitment to excellence, our founders embarked on a mission to create a consultancy that would not only offer traditional accounting and bookkeeping services but also serve as a strategic partner for businesses seeking to elevate their financial performance.
My name is Douglas
Douglas Kohn is an experienced CFO with 15+ years of significant finance experience. He has worked with a number of companies in a variety of industries, including SaaS and Real Estate. In his previous role as Director of Financial & Asset Management, Douglas oversaw accounting and asset management for 5000 units spread amongst 31 entities.
Douglas has a unique blend of financial, operational, and managerial expertise that lends him well to high-level, forward-thinking financial strategy, including data modeling, financial forecasting, cash management, budgeting, reporting, debt and equity financing, and financial analysis.
Douglas is a New York CPA with an MBA from Northeastern University and Bachelor’s in Accounting from Fordham University.
After finishing his MBA, Douglas worked as a financial analyst at Newmark Knight Frank, where he was responsible for property, portfolio, and development underwriting and financial modeling, as well as accounting responsibilities related to commercial leases and real estate acquisitions.
Douglas has experience in several other industries besides real estate. He has worked in a real estate related fintech firm, Rockport VAL, which developed a competitor to ARGUS for real estate cash flow modeling. He is also an investor in tech startups.
Douglas resides in Boca Raton, FL with his wife and daughter.
My name is Jeff
Jeff has 15 years progressive Accounting and Finance experience. As President of SoFla Prime he provides outsourced CFO, Accounting, and Finance solutions to businesses of all sizes in a variety of industries.
In addition to SoFla Prime, Jeff currently serves as CFO for F.I.T. PT an in-home PT, OT, ST clinic with 25+ therapists providing care throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties. He has helped oversee their growth over the past few years from incorporation as a 1 therapist practice to a leading provider in the region today.
Prior to forming SoFla Prime Jeff worked at a PE backed retailer for 5 years where he oversaw a team of 20+ professionals in Treasury, Tax, AR, AP, Pricing, and FP&A with significant forecasting, cashflow modeling, and inventory responsibilities. He also has experience working in Public Accounting for 8 years and in the corporate office of a multinational publicly traded Advertising and Communications company for 2 years.
Jeff is a New York CPA with a Masters in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and dual Bachelors in Accounting and Finance from the University of Rhode Island. He lives in Delray Beach, FL with his wife and 2 children.
